What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. Deep tissue massage (DT) helps to break up painful lumps or nodules felt within tight bands of muscles. Clients often describe the pain as exquisite at a discrete point. DT aims at deactivating and eliminating these painful knots.

Why get a Deep Tissue Massage?

When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it’s important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.

Is treatment painful?

Clients can sometimes expect some post treatment soreness for the following 24 hours but it is not always the case.

How much does a session cost, and what forms of payment are acceptable?

A 40 minute “hands on” massage session costs £40. If you wish a 60 minute therapy, my fee is £60. Please allow up to 80 minutes for consultation time for the latter. We accept Cash and cheques.
